For the 4th question may we use references to groups such as southerners, slaveholders, abolitionists, etc. Rather than individual arguments made by specific persons?

For question number 3 what do you mean by legal reasons?

Sorry guys. I need to be better about checking both sites.

Haakon-Of course.

Cassi-The Constitution and the slave codes both fit. If you want to be more expansive, you could look up both Dred Scot and the fugitive slave act of 1850.

Eliza-Some argue their physical constitution wasn't viewed to be ideal by Southerners. Look up the Racial notes given in the primary source presentations. Also, Indians had a much easier time running away.

Would the legal arguments be more associated towards political defense of Calhoun?

How do you feel about problem, cause, solution for question #2? I think that would work better than the 3 points.
